Topics
- Biosecurity (including DFG/Leopoldina Codex for responsible research)
- Biosafety regulations (CRISPR/Cas, gene drive and mutagenesis) including norms of German and European laws
- Ethical principles in biosciences (e.g. the comment about synthetic biology from the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues)
- Discussing the big picture, using ‘Re-Genesis’ from George Church as an example (human enhancement, intervention of the human germline)
- Neuroethics: emerging neurotechnologies, particularly brain organoids, and the ethical challenges
