The CIBSS Launchpad Programme invites CIBSS alumna, Dr. Melanie Haehnel-Taguchi from the Freiburg University Science Support Centre, to deliver an up-to-date seminar on “Funding Opportunities for Postdocs and Early Career Researchers” in 2025. 

What: Grant Funding Opportunities for Postdocs and Early Career Researchers

Target Group: Doctoral students in the final phase of their thesis, postdoctoral researchers, and early career researchers in the life sciences.

When: Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12:00–13:00 (lunchtime)

Where: Seminar room, ground floor, Signalhaus (Schänzlestraße 18, 79104 Freiburg im Breisgau)

Objectives:

• Getting to know available funding programmes.
• Understanding the requirements, prerequisites for application, and application processes.
• Help with orientation, which programs align with your career stage.

Content:

• Overview of programmes by the DFG (Walter Benjamin Programme, Emmy Noether Programme) and other funding sources (e.g., BW-Stiftung, Vector Stiftung, VolkswagenStiftung, etc.) targeted towards researchers, after completing their doctoral thesis until planning their own research group.
• Funding schemes for different career phases
